When people have conflicting worldviews, it can be difficult to develop shared solutions.Mediation is a process facilitated by an independent and neutral third party where people in conflict have the opportunity to negotiate a mutually acceptable agreement, and can then work together effectively.

The independent facilitator – the mediator – facilitates communication, assists the parties to identify their needs and interests, promotes understanding, and uses creative problem solving techniques to enable the parties to reach their own agreement.

The parties to the mediation control the outcome. Unlike arbitration or litigation mediation offers the opportunity to find a resolution by the parties themselves, and gives parties much more control over the way their dispute or difference is dealt with and over the outcome.

Conflict can be either a constructive or destructive part of an organization’s development. We can help individuals and groups develop skills and practices to work through difficulties.
